Club History

Ragamuffins FC was born in the early 1980s when a group of guys (fathers and sons) decided to meet regularly for some soccer action.

The children have grown up, and some of them, having taken time off to work hard on their careers and raise their families, are back as not-so-young children.

The Name

The name "Ragamuffins" had its origins in the fact that many of the players were originally from England, and that many were in the clothing business--the "rag trade."

The word "ragamuffin" also denotes a scruffy, untidy, unruly person .... a very fitting description of many who have played over the years (and still do).

Our Team

Today the Ragamuffins represent many countries and continents, and our group is proof that it is possible for individuals of various ages (from teenagers to sexogenarians), linguistic and ethnic backgrounds to come together in a spirit of mutual respect and friendship.

We value that spirit above all else, and the friendships and lasting bonds it has created.
